What are Cub Scouts?

Cubs, open to boys and girls, are the second section of the Scouting family. They meet weekly in a Cub Scout Pack and are split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting and challenging. A Cub Scout meeting consists of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.

Camps are some of the most memorable events of the year for Cubs. Cubs follow a progressive programme helping them earn challenge and activity badges, leading to the top award the Chief Scout's Silver Award

Where and when do we meet?

There are 2 Cub Packs in the Scout Group. One meets on Wednesdays from 7pm to 8.30pm and the other on Thursdays, from 7.15 pm to 8 . 45 pm in the Scout Centre during school term time.

Uniform Requirements

Cubs wear a dark green sweatshirt, with a Group scarf (also known as a Necker), and a woggle, in the colour of their Six Uniform, except the G roup scarf, can be purchased from the Girlguiding Aberdeen Shop, 45 Victoria Street, Aberdeen, AB10 1UX. Open Mondays 12noon to 5pm; Thursdays 12noon to 7pm; and Saturdays 10am to 4pm. The correct colour of the 21st Group scarf is Scout Green bordered Gold. Although It is not stocked by the Guide Shop, it can be purchased on-line from Scout Shops (the official UK Scout shop) or from the Glasgow Scout Shop.

Membership Subscription

Membership subscriptions are payable annually . The Scout Group, being a Registered Scottish Charity, operates the Gift Aid Scheme. Payment of the membership subscription by way of a donation through Gift Aid means that the Scout Group can claim from Inland Revenue, an extra 25p for every 1 membership subscription paid. The Cub Leader will advise the current rate of membership subscription and provide a Gift Aid form for completion. It should be noted that optional extra activities/events outwith the Scout Centre, may incur an additional charge and these will be notified at the time.
